Good Morning Blog World

WOW! I never would have believed it..oil prices falling to under $54 per barrel. If anything will give the economy a jumpstart this should do it...if only we could depend on a static price. Problem is the oil prices reflect a slow demand for crude and if our economy rebounds the prices will go up as demand increases. The worst part of this scenario to me is that not only do the oil companies have no incentive to do risky exploration; congress has no pressure to allow drilling in areas where we need to drill. And of course the one area of the economy that was booming is now slowing down....the oil patch.

Things are not always what they appear to be. And sometimes ya just can't make this shit up...."A Massachusetts state senator, photographed by the FBI allegedly stuffing bribe money under her sweater, has been indicted on eight counts of attempted extortion."
But the senator, Sen. Dianne Wilkerson, says "more to this story."
What ya wanna bet she wuz just scratching an itchy tit?

Looks like we are indeed gonna get the change Obama promised... change back to the Clinton years. Maybe some of you don't remember the Clinton years? Ya know? When the Justice department got a reputation at Waco and by kidnapping a kid and sending him back to Castro? Oh, and I forgot..a justice department that refused to investigate the Chinese-Clinton connection...a scandal ya didn't hear much about but two high ranking members of the justice department resigned is disgust. Yeah, and I figure this is the kinda change we are gonna get in the Justice Department...left wing judges who will uphold Obama's ideas of socialism in the lower courts and try to keep appeals from going to the Supremes until Hussein can pack the top with his own dawgs. This ain't gonna be pretty for those of us who prefer freedom over socialism.

So far congress is seeing the request for bailing out Detroit about like I do...
"Senate Democratic leaders said they had not been able to muster the support for legislation that would provide $25 billion to the troubled auto industry from the Treasury Department’s $700 billion economic rescue fund."
And maybe this says it best...
Senator Richard C. Shelby of Alabama, the ranking Republican on the banking committee, said he was skeptical that the Detroit companies could sufficiently reorganize their operations and improve their competitiveness.
“How is this money going to be used?” he said. “Will it be used to improve their business model and product lines, or is this just life support?”
I figure it is life support...and chapter eleven will serve both the automotive industry and the country better than spending billions of tax payer dollars.
Enough. It is chilly again this morning...hot jumpstart weather fer shore. I had my grits and drugs for the day and an extra dip of Skoal is taking the taste of that nebulizer horse piss out of my mouth. It is supposed to warm some after while..hope so. I need to go pull the dead flora out of the beds and pots and start getting them ready for spring. Y'all come, heah?
