Today is Veterans Day, a day that is set aside each year to remember and honor the dead and wounded in our struggle to obtain and keep freedom as well as to honor all that have served in our country's military service...and I include the Coast Guard in this service although technically it is not part of the Department of Defense.

Veterans Day is one of those holidays that I do observe although I feel much about is as I do Mother's Day and Father's Day...I don't need a special day to remember and appreciate what special people have done for me and my country. I remember and honor them every day of the week.

But today is that special day...and I extend my thanks to every one who has ever served in the United States Armed Forces...it is your willingness to sacrifice some of your personal freedom while serving that has obtained and kept the personal freedoms the the public enjoys. Thank you.
