Sunday Morning Coming Down

It is a beautiful morning...the sun is shining out of the eastern horizon and there is a slight breeze that makes the 60F air feel a bit chillier than what it is. The 'varmits' are scurrying and the birds are on the feeders. There is a feeling of peace and maybe a lull before a storm...yeah the hurricane is coming into the gulf this week but my local weather quack sent me an e-mail assuring me that the cooler gulf waters would bust it up faster than a sledge hammer on a hen egg...but then I remember shoveling six inches of partly cloudy a couple of times in the past. I betcha fishing would be great on an incoming tide....

I was up until wee hours of the morning...details I will not go into right now but suffice it to say it was the most enjoyable night of my life. And if I can ever get this post up I am going to crash and get me some sleep...

I had planned a post of reminiscence this morning...Sunday mornings coming down in the distant past but I made the mistake of reading the news first...sorry folks but I have a few words to say to you about the socialists in the House of Representatives.

This health care bill that narrowly passed last night is a scam on the American people...a projected revenue neutral 1.1 trillion dollar over the next ten year scam. There is just too gotdam much wrong with it to go into here but I am going to point out at least three...

First of all the revenue neutral 1..1 trillion dollars is BULL SHIT! When was the last time you saw any gotdam government program come in at budget? People these sumbitches cannot even run a railroad without government subsidies...do you really think that they can run a health care program without tax dollars? And take a look where the dollars to run it are supposed to come from...taxes and fees and cuts in medicare. Who is going to pay the taxes and fees? And how are doctors who are already seeing eight patients an hour going to absorb the cuts? Or is medicare not going to be one of those 'according to need' programs where if you have smoked or been overweight the government decides that you should have know better and tells you to just go off and die...

Next is the provision that employers will be forced to either provide medical insurance or pay an eight percent of payroll penalty. People, it is a damn sight cheaper in the long run just to pay the penalty...and write it off as a cost of doing business and pass it on to the consumer at the cash register. If I was still in business that is what I would do...a lot less paperwork and no gotdam worries with insurance companies who raise my costs every time someone gets sick and uses the policy.

And last but not least is the provision that will force everyone to either purchase insurance or face penalties...I have not read the entire bill and can't tell you what the penalties will be but I will tell you this...once this kind of bill passes it opens the door for more government oppression. If left up to an administrative branch to determine the penalties don't be surprised if you find that not purchasing medical insurance winds up to be a felony...well, hell...at least if they lock you up you will get medical care free of charge to goo along with you baloney sammich and gravy.

There is just a bit of hope left my friends...this monstrosity of a scam has to pass the senate. And rules in the senate are different than in the house and there is a chance that it can be blocked. Some pundits say it cannot get out of the senate....maybe not even out of committee...I do have my hopes.

If you love your freedom my friends you will do as I am doing today...write a letter to your senator and protest this grab for federal power over your life. We must let the senate know that there are those of us who value our freedom over free bread.

And now I am going to finish my first mug of jumpstart and feed what is left of my cackleberry breakfast to "DON'TGOTDAMIT!" and then maybe get some sleep. Life is still good for now folks even though we have a government dead set on making it bad..my angel of the morning loves me. Y'all come, heah?
