Good Morning Blog World

"Prime Minister David Cameron said Monday that Britain’s financial situation was “even worse than we thought” and that the country would have to make savage spending cuts to bring its swelling deficit under control."

Hmmmmm, looks like the Brits are about to find out that 'THERE AIN'T NO FREE FISH AND CHIPS!' And I have this idea that along about the first Tuesday of November the left wing in the USA is going to be realizing this also...

I just can't buy into the basic tenets of socialism...this bit about contributing according to ability and receiving according to need sounds okay on the surface...but...who is going to determine my ability and my needs? Psychologists have studied human needs for decades...in fact Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs has been used extensively by various people to try to understand what makes people tick...but what has been determined mostly is that it is 'different strokes for different folks'...and the fallacy of socialism is that the 'one size fits all' premise. And of course the fact that socialism is in no way compatible with individual freedom...nor a booming and vibrant economy. Don't think so? Take a look at the first paragraph of this rant once again...
....................................................................................

Looks like Chinese labor is wanting a bigger piece of the pie! GOOD FOR THEM! Increased labor costs in China will cause higher prices for our Chinese imports for sure but higher labor costs in China might eventually drive N. American business back to N. America...provided the governments of the USA/Canada will let them keep enough of their profits to make it worthwhile...

Government regulations, taxes, and labor laws weighed in the favor of labor over business have driven most factories out of the USA and a lot out of Canada...and those left are struggling to stay afloat for the most part. I still contend that the best way to help the American economy would be a National "Right to Work" law...bust the greedy unions and watch the economy grow....
....................................................................................

But, what the hell, I am retired and don't have a dawg in the fight anymore...just hope all of you reading this have a job and work hard and pay those payroll taxes so I can keep getting my rocking chair money every month...I do appreciate it. I just need three more years of it to break even with what I paid in...hope all of you can get your share of the ponzi scheme know as social security...
...................................................................................

I am enjoying life...more now than I ever have. My angel and I are just laying back again today and enjoying each other's company. It is warm out but pouring rain...a day outside for Canadian geese and a day inside to cuddle up and watch a couple of flicks...maybe read a book or catch up reading blogs. Y'all come, heah?

Sunday Morning Coming Down

I am late getting around this Sunday morning...I slept in til after 8:30...something I seldom ever do. We had a most enjoyable day yesterday...a walk in what was the warmest weather thus far this year...some 60F and not much wind. I had to shed my jacket, Heh. Last night we grilled some hot dawgs and then just laid back and listened to the "Cabin party" on VOCM radio. (You can get it on line...just click the link) The "Cabin Party is four hours of Country music from the past starting at 7:30 PM EDT...9 PM Newfie time. We even danced a tune or two as well as sung along...my cracking base is not what it used to be but still loud I reckon. And it was after one this morning before we got to bed.

I had hoped for a walk to the park this afternoon but looks like the good weather was short lived...it will be warm enough...predicted to be 15C...(near 60F)...but raining... so I think I will just help fix the traditional Newfie Sunday meal ...a Jiggs Dinner. Ours is prepared with potatoes, carrots, turnips, onions, and salt meat...DELICIOUS!

I hope later this week to make the visit to the Newfoundland Railroad Museum and do enough research there to be able to tell you about the now defunct railway. From what I have learned thus far the history of the railway is fascinating...but a lot like most railroads of its era it was always operating in the red.

Time for me to scamble up a cackleberry and burn a piece of bread for my breakfast...done had my pot of jumpstart and a couple of dips of Skoal. And dammit I am out of Skoal...the price of tobacco here is such that I will be seriously rationing my habit...13 bucks for a container half the size of what I get in the states is PRICY!

My angel just got up...and told me she loved me...made my day once again. Y'all come back, heah?

Good Morning Blog World

Maybe I should explain something to you...Islam is now and has always been a militant religion and those who truly believe the teachings of the prophet Mohamed can be nothing else but militant. To most of us who lived in the mideast prior to the hostage crises in Iran the crises did not come as a total surprise. We had seen the riots and the hostility towards 'infidels'...and make no mistake...it was not because of anything that the Americans or the western world had done...it was and still is the grab for power by the 'mad mullahs' who use Islam as the tool to gain the power.

Islam forbids ANY religious tolerance although the Koran does forbid the outright murder of Jews and Christians. Islamic law demands that Muslims treat Jews and Christians as dhimmis, a legal status inferior to that of a Muslim but superior to that of other non-Muslims. Historically ALL who were not Muslims have been persecuted.

Islam has been at war with the rest of the world since its inception. The current war is just a continuation and we in the western world have abetted the enemy in the name of diversification and political correctness. If we continue this path we will either be forced to convert or die...

Islam was stopped at the "gates of Vienna by combined European forces in 1683...will we in the western world have the courage to stop them once again?

My angel told me to get a picture of the UFO! But when I looked out it was just the sun shining brightly on a beautiful June morning. Maybe summer is finally here in Newfoundland. We hope so...there is a lot going on in St John's this summer from parades to music festivals and I want to see it all...in GOOD weather.

Life is good my friends. My angel told me first thing she loves me...and she knows I adore her. The jumpstart has me wired and I even manged to get this blog post up before noon today, heh. Y'all come heah? By the way, I do encourage you to comment on this post about Islam...agree or disagree...

PS: the photo came to you via my friend Vance and Sue down in Bow and Arrow country...two who understand the dangers of islam

Just For Glee

A little boy was waiting for his mother to come out of the grocery store. As he waited, he was approached by a man called Terry who asked, "Son, canyou tell me where the Post Office is?"

The little boy replied, "Sure! Just go straight down this street a
coupla blocks and turn to your right."

Terry thanked the boy kindly and said, "I'm the new pastor in
town. I'd like for you to come to church on Sunday. I'll show
you how to get to Heaven."

The little boy replied with a chuckle. "Awww, come on... You don't
even know the way to the fucking Post Office"

I understand that supporting Israel is causing some problems with the allegiance with Turkey...and there is another blockade runner on the way. Israel will stop it also as they should. The question is, should the USA support Israel's blockade and risk losing the friendship of Turkey?

Let me give you a brief history lesson...or at least history as I see it. The USA formed an allegiance with Turkey after WW Two for one reason and one reason only...the cold war between the USSR and the western world. Turkey was admitted in to NATO and the USA established several Air Bases and communication/spy sites there. The air bases had nuclear capability and there were aircraft (and for several years missiles) on the alert line armed with nukes.

During this time the political situation in Turkey was volatile...Turkey was sorta kinda a secular republic with a constitution that guaranteed the rights of its citizens but it stayed that way only because of the military who often interfered to keep the government secular. This is no longer the case...the Islamic rulers recently arrested high ranking military officers lest they once again force the government to remain secular.

My point...do we still need the bases in Turkey? Is it worth kowtowing to radical Islam to keep them? I don't think so. Seems that it would be much better to tell the Turks to fuck off and make the deal with Israel for bases in the mideast if we actually need them there. At least Israel is not run by Muslims and has always been friendly with the USA. Hmmmm...but then you all know I am a bigot because I despise Islam and all it stands for...especially the part of Islam that teaches the followers that it is just great to try to kill me. I just have this bigoted problem with THAT!
.....................................................................................

It looks like it is going to be a pretty day here in St John's Newfoundland...not all that warm but the sun is shining and it is about 40F out without the usual blustery wind. I do love this place...its people and the attitudes of the people...and one of the people in particular. Life is good my friends...the junpstart is hot and strong and my angel loves me. Y'all come, heah?

HOLD ON! Someone explain to me how it could be called a "botched raid"? The Israelis asked the ships to dock in Israel for inspection to insure no arms were being shipped. One ship refused to do so...the Israelis boarded and were attacked and in the process of securing the ship killed nine of the blockade runners. The ship was secured and towed to Israel for inspection. Seems to me this was a MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! If anything was botched it was the blockade runners. This is just another attempt by the America/Israel hating media to twist the facts in order to swing world opinion against Israel.

And our emperor Obama is not helping...

"The Obama administration considers Israel’s blockade of Gaza to be untenable and plans to press for another approach to ensure Israel’s security while allowing more supplies into the impoverished Palestinian area, senior American officials said Wednesday."

With friends like Obama our allies really should hope they don't have any enemies. The recent history of the USA since and including the Vietnam era has been one of deserting allies...take a look at Taiwan who has been left to fend for itself against mainland China. And of course out S. Vietnamese allies were not only left for the communists to slaughter...they were left without the arms they had been promised.

It appears that this is what Obama has planned for Israel...the only trusted ally in the mideast. The only way I can figure to explain his logic is by reminding you that he bowed to a raghead king...tells me which side he is on and it damn sure is not the one of the USA!...nor Israel.

.....................................................................................

There is a way to put a stop to the argument over abortion. If in fact the voters want abortion then bring it up to the voters as a constitutional amendment! If approved the it is legal. If disapproved then it is not! People, I am not arguing for or against abortion...but I do say this...it takes one WILD STRETCH OF IMAGINATION to find the right to abortion in the Constitution of the USA. We are supposed to be a representative republic with a government limited by our constitution....not a democracy where majority rules... not a country where laws are made by judges...hmmmmm...aren't we? Or did I read my history books and political science books wrong?
...................................................................................

It was a beautiful day in St John's Newfoundland. My angel of the morning...and day and night...and I took the metro bus to the waterfront just to watch the ships in the harbor and take a window shopping walk down 'Water Street'. The weather was pleasant, the bus ride was a scenic one, and the day a most enjoyable one.

We saw and approached the skipper of a tour boat on the docks and asked about the harbor and outer banks tour. He explained that by the end of the month there will be some icebergs there and pods of whales to see. We will take that tour...I want the photos plus I just like to take boat rides, heh.
....................................................................................

Looks like another pretty day coming up although the weather quacks allow it might rain...I have already figured out though that I can predict the weather about as good as they can here..just flip a coin...maybe a Loonie..

Speaking of coins...Canada has the right idea with coins...they mint a one dollar coin affectionately called a "Loonie" and a two dollar coin referred to as a "Toonie"...don't ask why... I don't have the slightest idea where the terms came from. But they do save a wallet full of one dollar bills and once I got used to using them I like it.

Enough for one morning...I have had my ration of jumpstart and here it is nearly 11 am and I still have not had my cackleberry...hell, might as well wait til lunch now. Y'all come, heah?

Some wit once quipped that he would not belong to any private club that would accept HIM...I feel about the same way, heh. I am just not much of a 'joiner'. But that said I do have a few words about the rights of private clubs to restrict membership...just where does the rights of the members end and the rights of those who are refused membership begin? Kentucky is using government power to force the private clubs to integrate...is this the proper role of government?

I have no problem with government refusing to allow income tax deductions for club membership...if left up to me church tithes would not be tax deductible either and all private club properties as well as church properties would be subject to property taxes. The only such deductions would be for true charities....that is those who can prove that at least 90 percent of donations go to charity and not for maintenance of multi-million dollar properties and salaries to over paid executives/shamans. But I do have a problem with government telling me who I can and cannot admit to a privately owned building and who my friends and I must associate with.

My private code of ethics will not let me join in organization that routinely blacklists any part of society because of gender, race, religion, skin color, or sexual orientation...excepting ragheads. (I will change this when ragheads decide to join the civilized world and Islam becomes compatable with personal freedom.) However, I do reserve the right to select who I want to associate with and resent any government attempts to force me to associate with anyone.

Does this make me a racist? Maybe some would think so but I prefer to think of it as making me one who loves my personal freedom as well as respecting the rights to others freedom...as well as one who does not trust government to enforce anyone's creator given right to freedom.

Your comments about this will be welcomed...and published regardless of agreement or disagreement.

Looks like a nicer day here in St John's today. Yesterday was a raw one...DAMN...cold wet wind and we had to get out in it for a while waiting at a bus stop...have not been that cold since a raw night on the flight line at MacDill AFB many winters ago. But looks like summer is about to get here finally. Prediction for today is near 50F...but weather quacks here are much like weather quacks every where else...I think they flip a coin.

But regardless of unseasonable weather life is GREAT in St John's. My angel of the morning loves me and I adore her. The coffee is strong and I get the jumpstart from it...and there is just something about the climate that agrees with me. I have only had to take one of those gotdam darvocet pain pills since I have been here! Is it just getting out of the same country that Obama is in that stopped the pain? Y'all come back, heah?

THIS is starting to piss me off. Israel is the only friend that the USA has in the mideast. Here's the facts people...the Gaza strip is controlled by Hamas, a raghead terrorist group supported by the mad mullahs in Iran. Hamas has not only refused to recognize Israel it has refused any and all attempts for a peaceful solution and has sworn to destroy Israel. Hamas and Israel are at war for all practical purposes.

When there is a war often there are blockades to prevent the opponent from gaining supplies is not only a logical move but a common one. This is what Israel has imposed on Hamas. But Obama is obviously siding with the ragheads...but what the hell...we already knew where he stood...or bowed...

There is a solution to the Palestinian problem...all the ragheads have to do is lay down their weapons and form a country with a viable and peaceful government. But instead the ragheads want it all...the gardens that the Israelis built from the desert and the most fruitful economy in the mideast...without oil by the way.

One thing for certain, there will be no peace between the ragheads and Israel as long as Obama is in office...but if left to Obama there might not be an Israel.
....................................................................................

It is a RAW day in St John's! Cold rain and blustery wind....and we have to get out in it at least long enough to get to the metro bus stop and from the bus to her doctor's office. Oh well, such is life in the north lands...the good days more than make up for the bad.

Other than a raw day life is great my friends. My angel of the morning loves me and I am ecstatically happy with her. The coffee was not only extra strong this morning...I added some chocolate milk mix to it and got that BIG jumpstart...a caffeine kick, heh. Y'all come, heah?
