Hmmmm

I am on record here as a supporter of Gay rights, including the right to marriage, and my rationale is the same as federal judge, Vaughn Walker...the 14th amendment. But the problem is that it is not only Gays who suffer from discrimination....how about the millions of white people who have been the victims of 'reverse discrimination' because of civil rights acts?

It is well and good to say that all are born equal and have equal rights guaranteed by the constitution. But too many people misinterpret the 14th amendment and seem to think that equal rights/opportunity means equal success! And demand that those who have sacrificed time, energy, and money to be successful share with those who have not done so.

St George Street Festival

Finally! Tonight is the last and best night of the St John's George Street music festival...a full night of "Newfie Music" entertainment by Newfoundland bands.

Newfie music is much like the folk songs of the American frontier...and no wonder. Both were settled by the country folk of the British Isles who brought their music with them. It should be a most enjoyable evening.

Sunday Morning Coming Down

It is a balmy Sunday morning...about 19C degrees and drizzle rain...and just a slight breeze coming through the window. The prediction is for heavy rain later today. Looks like a trip to the George Street outdoor music fest is out for us. Damn. Tuesday night is when I really want to attend...several hours of "Newfie Music" which has become my favorite.

We have been mostly just kicking back and enjoying life for the past week. We manage to get out every day for a stroll somewhere but the heat (75 to 80 F degrees) is tough on my angel. Of course it is Florida winters to me and I enjoy it. We did take one long hike last week...nice going but a 25 percent grade on the way back and the mile uphill got to both of us. We had to stop for a rest several times..she out of air and me out of knees, heh. Surprises me that here I can breath and climb the hills...just need some new knees.

I reckon I should apologize for my lack of blogging...but I am not. I will continue to put up posts from time to time...especially when I have a rant. But I came to the conclusion that I was preaching to the choir with my rants and the only reason I will post one now is to blow off steam...and Obama and his hoods do steam me up...

Life is good for me my friends. My angel loves me and tells me and shows me her love in every way. I have all a man could ask for plus more. Y'all come, heah?
